Location: Site Based, Plymouth, Devon

Hours: Permanent, Full Time

Your Role and Responsibilities

As an Assistant Materials Engineer, you will play a crucial role in our Nuclear team, supporting the redevelopment project at the Dockyard. Here’s what your day-to-day will look like:

Gain a deep understanding of project specifications and the technical aspects of construction materials design, supply, use, and testing.
Advise on necessary derogations and amendments to requirements and specifications.
Provide technical guidance to project teams, with support from the Lead Materials Engineer, on the suitability and use of various materials including concrete, asphalt, and aggregates.
Assist in the preparation of Material Acceptance Requests and monitor feedback and technical queries related to construction materials.
Coordinate materials specifications, ITP requirements, and supply chain materials management during mobilization and execution of works.

What We’re Looking For

This role is perfect for you if you have:

An HND / HNC / NVQ in a relevant subject (beneficial).
A degree in Civil Engineering, Materials, or Earthworks (desirable).
Industry-accredited safety training, such as CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme).
Previous experience in materials.
