Hours: Permanent, Full Time

Your Responsibilities

As an Assistant Materials Engineer, you will play a crucial role in our Nuclear team, supporting the redevelopment project at the Dockyard. Here’s what your day-to-day will look like:

• Develop a comprehensive understanding of project specifications and the technical aspects of construction materials design, supply, use, and testing.
• Advise on necessary derogations and amendments to requirements and specifications.
• Provide technical guidance to project teams, with support from the Lead Materials Engineer, on the suitability and use of various materials including concrete, asphalt, and aggregates.
• Assist in the preparation of Material Acceptance Requests and monitor feedback and technical queries related to construction materials.
• Coordinate materials specifications, ITP requirements, and supply chain materials management during mobilization and execution of works.

What We’re Looking For

This role is perfect for you if you have:

• An HND, HNC, or NVQ in a relevant subject (beneficial).
• A degree in Civil Engineering, Materials, or Earthworks (desirable).
• Industry-accredited safety training, such as CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme).
• Previous experience with materials.
