Overview

WSP Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom. Associate Highways Engineer (Liveable Places) role based in the Manchester area with WSP. This is a contract for an experienced professional to join the Liveable Places team and contribute to a range of projects from concept to delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Regional lead for the North, along with the wider Liveable Places team and WSP with leadership and business development
  • Work directly with clients to achieve sustainable transport outcomes
  • Act as Project Manager on a wide range of projects while helping to grow and develop our work with clients
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practice
  • Oversee project budgets and financial performance
  • Undertake technical preparation, review and checking of deliverables within the team
  • Collaborate with the Liveable Places team and colleagues in the wider Mobility team and the wider WSP business to achieve aims and objectives

Qualifications & Requirements

  • A civil engineering degree, transport planning degree or equivalent
  • Chartered membership of a relevant professional body (desirable)
  • Knowledge of current transport policy and standards
  • Proven ability to support winning public sector work and grow opportunities in Greater Manchester and Liverpool City Region
  • Proven ability to lead and manage project teams and individuals
  • Proven track record in project management and financial control
  • Passion for mentoring and developing talent
  • Experience in transport, road safety, parking and traffic engineering
  • Good spoken and written communication skills with the ability to liaise with public sector officials, the public and senior colleagues
