Associate Highways Engineer (Liveable Places)

Overview
WSP Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom. Associate Highways Engineer (Liveable Places) role based in the Manchester area with WSP. This is a contract for an experienced professional to join the Liveable Places team and contribute to a range of projects from concept to delivery.
Responsibilities
- Support the Regional lead for the North, along with the wider Liveable Places team and WSP with leadership and business development
- Work directly with clients to achieve sustainable transport outcomes
- Act as Project Manager on a wide range of projects while helping to grow and develop our work with clients
- Stay informed about industry trends and best practice
- Oversee project budgets and financial performance
- Undertake technical preparation, review and checking of deliverables within the team
- Collaborate with the Liveable Places team and colleagues in the wider Mobility team and the wider WSP business to achieve aims and objectives
Qualifications & Requirements
- A civil engineering degree, transport planning degree or equivalent
- Chartered membership of a relevant professional body (desirable)
- Knowledge of current transport policy and standards
- Proven ability to support winning public sector work and grow opportunities in Greater Manchester and Liverpool City Region
- Proven ability to lead and manage project teams and individuals
- Proven track record in project management and financial control
- Passion for mentoring and developing talent
- Experience in transport, road safety, parking and traffic engineering
- Good spoken and written communication skills with the ability to liaise with public sector officials, the public and senior colleagues
