AWS DevOps Engineer

At the heart of higher education, this organisation delivers trusted data, insights and digital products used by leading universities worldwide. They’re now looking for a skilled DevOps Engineer to help shape and strengthen the infrastructure that underpins their global reach.

Role Overview:

• Location: Hybrid – London office with flexibility, ideally 1-2 days per week onsite.
• Package: £70,000 Basic + benefits
• Industry: Online publishing & data services

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Maintaining and upgrading AWS EKS clusters and related services
• Enhancing monitoring and alerting with Grafana
• Building and managing CI/CD pipelines for Node, React and Drupal apps
• Configuring Fastly CDN for high-performance content delivery
• Driving AWS governance, cost management and security improvements
• Automating infrastructure with Terraform and scripting (including scaling environments)
• Empowering developers to self-deploy infrastructure for new applications
• Streamlining database provisioning, access and role management

Main Skills Needed:

• Strong AWS expertise, with hands-on experience in EKS cluster management
• Proficiency in Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code practices
• Experience with CI/CD tools (CircleCI preferred)
• Knowledge of scalable web platforms, autoscaling, monitoring and deployment best practice
• Practical experience with Grafana for monitoring and alerting
• Solid understanding of cloud security, IAM and governance
