Group IT Azure Engineer
to take a leading role in cloud transformation projects, ensuring solutions are robust, scalable, and aligned with the companys global technology strategy. This is a hands-on, technical role within a collaborative Group IT function, supporting a diverse, international user base. Youll act as the Azure SME, responsible for designing, deploying, and optimising cloud-based infrastructure across multiple business units. Key Responsibilities Design, implement and support Azure-based infrastructure and services across a global environment. Take ownership of cloud operations, ensuring performance, scalability, and security. Collaborate with Engineering, Security, Application, and Service Delivery teams to deliver seamless, integrated cloud solutions. Act as a technical lead on Azure projects, from infrastructure deployment to automation and optimisation. Implement and maintain robust security and compliance controls, including access management and data protection standards (GDPR). Develop and maintain documentation, ensuring consistency, clarity, and knowledge sharing across the IT function. Support the organisations broader cloud strategy, contributing technical insights and innovation to long-term planning. Mentor junior engineers, championing best practice and continuous improvement. About You Youll bring proven experience in designing and managing Azure infrastructure within complex, multi-tenant environments, along with a strong grounding in cloud governance, automation, and security. Youll be comfortable operating in a global context and confident engaging with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact solutions. Experience & Skills Required 5+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services. Proven expertise in designing and managing Azure infrastructure solutions. Strong knowledge of Azure networking, security, identity, and cost management. Scripting and automation experience (PowerShell, CLI, Python). Experience with hybrid cloud environments and on-premise to cloud migrations. Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform. Strong communication skills and the ability to document and present complex technical concepts clearly. Microsoft certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert) highly desirable. ITIL Foundation and/or relevant industry certifications beneficial.
