The Company\nA leading engineering solutions provider, specialising in fluid system components and services, is looking for a Technical Field-Based Business Development Manager to cover the Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, or Berkshire region.\n\nRole Overview\nThe successful candidate will be responsible for growing and maintaining sales within a defined territory, while expanding the portfolio of products and services sold to both new and existing accounts. The role involves building strong relationships, increasing market penetration, and acting as a trusted technical advisor to customers.\n\nThis is a customer-facing position that requires someone commercially driven, technically minded, and capable of working independently while also contributing as part of a wider sales team.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n * Prospect for and secure new business opportunities.\n\n * Prepare thoroughly for customer meetings with relevant samples, technical knowledge, and background research.\n\n * Manage and develop key accounts strategically to maximise growth.\n\n * Ensure regular and meaningful contact with customers across the territory.\n\n * Identify customer needs and present tailored solutions.\n\n * Achieve sales and activity targets, including journey planning and call preparation.\n\n * Implement a robust territory plan to maximise efficiency and coverage.\n\n * Build strong, long-term customer relationships.\n\n * Provide detailed call reports and maintain accurate records of all customer activity.\n\nThe Candidate\nMinimum of 2 years’ experience in engineering sales\n\nPrevious experience working with or selling into the MOD\n\nExperience within a process engineering environment\n\nProven track record in business development\n\nBackground in solution selling\n\nPrevious hands-on engineering experience would be highly advantageous\n\nEligible to gain security clearance\n\nHolds an engineering qualification\n\nFull UK driving licence\n\nStrong relationship-building skills and commercial awareness\n\nPackage & Benefits\nSalary: £35,000 – £45,000 (depending on experience and qualifications).\n\nUncapped OTE.\n\nCompany car.\n\nOngoing technical training and development.\n\nPrivate medical insurance.\n\nFlexible working hours.\n\nLife insurance.\n\nDiscounted gym membership
