An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit manufacturing engineers (MEs) in Rolls-Royce Bristol's RepairWorks facility. RepairWorks repairs military and civil gas turbine components using a wide range of processes; machining, welding, coating, plasma spray, fitting & inspection. The ME team currently provides support to operations, such as leading process improvements & resolving non-conformance issues, and carries out trials and validation activities to bring new repairs into the facility. This opportunity is to lead the setup of new repairs for Civil Trent products then support operations once the repairs are validated. What you will be doing Creation of technical packages for new repairs; including process plans/operation sequences, technical instructions and inspection plansDriving validation activities; progressing trial parts through the facility, compiling validation evidence (for fixed process approvals) and inspection results (for first article inspection reports)Cross-functional problem solving; working closely with laboratory, materials specialists, metrologists, programmers and repair definers to overcome validation issues Who we're looking for: At Rolls-Royce we put safety first, do the right thing, keep it simple and make a difference. Required Experience: Qualified to Degree level (or equivalent) in Aerospace/ Manufacturing/ Materials/ Mechanical or equivalent work experience.Engineering experience in an manufacturing environment in one or more of the following areas: new product introduction, Maintenance Repair & Overhaul, process engineering.Motivated individuals with experience of delivering success when working in multi-functional teams including Operations, Planning and Design/Repair Engineering. Preferred Experience: Good knowledge of aerospace manufacturing validation processesExperience authoring technical instructions, operations sequences/process plans (or equivalent)Experience compiling First Article Inspection ReportsGeneral understanding of manufacturing processes relevant to the businessCompetent user of Microsoft applications (Excel, Word)SAP Experience (preferably in an MR&O environment)Experience interpreting maintenance data and engineering drawings (GD&T) We are an equal opportunities employer.
