Description\n\nWe are seeking a skilled Design Engineer to join our team at Network Plus, supporting the United Utilities contract. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and delivering high-quality design solutions for water and wastewater infrastructure projects. You’ll work closely with project managers, field teams, and client representatives to ensure designs are technically accurate, compliant with regulatory standards, and delivered on time.
The ideal candidate will have experience in utility or civil engineering design, strong CAD skills, and a collaborative, solutions-focused approach\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nMonitor leading industry practices, recommend new design approaches, and identify upcoming trends.\n\nDevelop high-quality concepts, working with team on iterations and design, actively seek feedback from Creative and Business stakeholders\n\nWorking on all design phases of projects, including project set-up, programming, design, and construction administration\n\nCollaborate with both internal design team, client design team and external consultants to execute creative projects\n\nProviding technical design support to other members of the design team.\n\nResponding to and resolving issues with external parties such as the client, third party organisations & sub-contractors\n\nRepresent the company and arrange pre-design and walk off meetings with the client. \n\nUndertake site investigation reports and complete CDM documentation.\n\nEnsure compliance with CDM 2015 throughout the design process.\n\nProduce and make ongoing updates to the H&S file throughout various stages of the project ensuring that it is up to date and available at the end of the project.\n\nCompetently produce detailed design & as-laid drawings using AutoCAD in accordance with the client's asset design standards and procedures.\n\nCreate private land notice plans in accordance with the clients’ processes and specification. \n\nLiaising with the client ensuring the site investigation, design and construction phases runs according to plan and providing regular detailed updates to the Project Manager and the client. \n\nWork alongside the Project Manager/ Operations Manager/ Design Manager to ensure all schemes are designed within budget and within the time constraints set by the client.\n\nExperience and Qualifications\n\nEngineering qualifications desirable however good experience would be considered.\n\nExperience of working in the water industry on clean/wastewater projects\n\nUnderstanding and knowledge of relevant Engineering specifications that apply to the water industry\n\nKnowledge and Awareness of CDM 2015\n\nProficient user of AutoCAD \n\nCompetent in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook\n\nExperienced or willingness to training in the use of GNSS/GPS surveying equipment\n\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills\n\nAbility to work as part of a team and to organise your workload across multiple projects\n\nWillingness to mentor and support less experienced colleagues \n\nSalary and Benefits\n\nWe offer a competitive salary based on experience along with a full benefits package.\n\nNetwork Plus is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
