Design Quality Engineer

Overview Morson are working with one of the UK's leading aerospace manufacturers who are looking for a Design Quality Engineer to join the team based at the site just outside Chester. Responsibilities
The Quality Engineering Wing team is accountable for the deployment of the Quality Strategy within the Engineering Wing organisations. This strategy is deployed via the implementation of Quality Improvement Project/Plans in order to support the achievement of the Engineering Wing quality targets. Drive and deliver improvement projects to support the achievement of the Engineering Wing quality targets (primary activity of the role). Facilitate and support root cause analysis & practical problem solving activities. Establish and drive corrective and preventive action plans to improve engineering quality performance and its associated deliverables. Identify risks/issues relating to the quality of the engineering deliverable and facilitate, support and drive standardised mitigation plans to prevent/mitigate risk linked to the product and its related processes. Support the deployment of Quality standards and apply them within the Engineering organisation. Capture lessons learned to improve organisational efficiency and product maturity.
Essential Qualifications & Skills
Relevant Quality and/or Engineering Experience. Project Management knowledge. Understanding of Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA). Understanding of root cause analysis techniques (e.g. 8D, 9S, etc.). Ability to demonstrate appropriate people skills and behaviours when interacting with all levels of management. Ability to learn quickly with a positive and enthusiastic attitude towards the workload. Excellent communication and English skills, both verbal and written. Excellent IT skills as appropriate to the role (Google Workspace / Microsoft Office).
Desirable Skills
Knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management and Product Data Management Systems. Understanding of Engineering Drawing and Modification management. Experience in a Design or Manufacturing Engineering Environment (beneficial but not essential). Ability to communicate in German (verbal and written) is highly beneficial but not essential. Programming experience (JavaScript, Google Apps Script, Python, etc.) is beneficial but not essential.
