This is your opportunity to combine technical excellence with meaningful impact — helping to shape the future of cloud operations for CGI and our clients.

CGI was recognised in the Sunday Times Best Places to Work List and has been named a UK ‘Best Employer’ by the Financial Times. We offer a competitive salary, excellent pension, private healthcare, plus a share scheme (3.5% + 3.5% matching) which makes you a CGI Partner not just an employee. Join us and you’ll be part of an open, friendly community of experts. We’ll train and support you in taking your career wherever you want it to go.

Due to the secure nature of the programme, you will need to hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to go through this clearance. This is a hybrid position.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

In this role, you will design, automate, and manage AWS environments that drive digital transformation for a range of CGI clients. You’ll take responsibility for delivering secure, scalable, and resilient infrastructure solutions that align with business and technical goals. Working with CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure-as-Code, and modern automation practices, you’ll help optimise delivery pipelines and improve system reliability.
You’ll collaborate closely with developers, architects, and operations teams to ensure that solutions are not only technically robust but also efficient, cost-effective, and compliant with governance standards. You’ll have the freedom to innovate, explore emerging technologies, and contribute to continuous improvement — all within a collaborative environment where you’re supported to grow and share your expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
Design & Build: Create and manage scalable AWS infrastructure following best practices for performance, security, and cost efficiency.
Automate & Streamline: Implement Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform or CloudFormation) and develop CI/CD pipelines for seamless delivery.
Collaborate & Support: Partner with cross-functional teams to integrate DevOps solutions into project workflows and troubleshoot AWS environments.
Secure & Comply: Apply security best practices, conduct audits, and maintain compliance with governance and regulatory standards.
Monitor & Optimise: Develop monitoring and alerting solutions to enhance availability and proactively optimise cloud environments.
Innovate & Improve: Identify and implement automation opportunities to increase efficiency and drive operational excellence.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

You should have proven experience delivering AWS-based DevOps solutions, combining strong technical knowledge with a collaborative and analytical mindset. You’ll bring the confidence to work independently while supporting and guiding others on more complex challenges.
Essential Qualifications:
Hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, VPC, IAM).
Strong understanding of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, CodePipeline).
Scripting proficiency (Python, Bash, or similar) and experience with Git.
Experience with containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
Knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform or CloudFormation).
Understanding of cloud security and compliance practices.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
Desirable:
AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or AWS Solutions Architect certification.
Experience working in Agile and consulting environments.
