What You'll Be Doing as the successful maintenance engineer

  • Delivering both planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdown support on a wide range of food production and machinery.
  • Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults quickly and effectively to minimise downtime.
  • Working with PLC-controlled equipment, conveyors, mixers, ovens, and automated packaging systems.
  • Supporting continuous improvement and OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) initiatives.
  • Ensuring all maintenance activities are carried out in line with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards.
  • Collaborating closely with production and quality teams to maintain a smooth and efficient operation.

What you need as the successful maintenance engineer:

  • Proven experience as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer within the FMCG or food manufacturing industry.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical engineering skills, ideally with experience in fault finding and automation.
  • Recognised engineering qualification or similar - NVQ Level 3, ONC/HNC, or City & Guilds in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Knowledge of PLC systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, and 3-phase systems.
  • A proactive, team-focused approach and a keen eye for continuous improvement.
