OverviewElectrical and Control Engineer – Scotland. Location/s: Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness, UK. Permanent, full-time role within the Water Utilities Division of Mott MacDonald.The Water Utilities Division is the centre of excellence for water and wastewater challenges. We work across the full project lifecycle, delivering best-in-class solutions and offering opportunities to grow within a global, employee-owned environment.ResponsibilitiesUndertake a wide range of EICA tasks, including: electrical power distribution design, control system design, specifying local renewable and back-up generation systems, developing plant layouts, cabling and installation design, instrumentation selection, lightning protection assessments, writing system control strategies, and factory/site acceptance testing of equipment.Work in close partnership with clients and contractors, building relationships to enhance the company’s reputation and secure further work.Cover all phases of the project lifecycle from feasibility studies through detailed design, construction support, and commissioning to handover.Engage with projects in water treatment, water distribution, wastewater recycling, industrial process water, desalination, irrigation, hydropower, and flood defence.Candidate specificationEssentialQualified to HND level or higher in electrical, electronic or control engineering or a related disciplineTwo years or more of experience in electrical and/or control engineering design/consultancyExcellent verbal and written communication skills in EnglishUnderstanding of the importance of prioritising health, safety, and environmental issuesDesirableMaster’s degree in electrical, electronic or control engineering or a related discipline (working towards)Chartered status with the Institution of Engineering and Technology or an equivalent bodyExperience of working in the water and/or wastewater industryGood understanding of water and wastewater treatment processesUK ImmigrationMott MacDonald Ltd. are not currently offering sponsorship to candidates under the Skilled Worker visa route in the UK.
