Contract Role: Electrical Design Engineer – Gloucestershire £28/hr (Ltd Co / Self-Employed) 3–4 month contract (possible extension) Office-based with occasional site visits
Join a market leader in systems integration for specialist vehicles (logistics & security) and building systems. A varied and hands-on role with scope for development.
What you’ll be doing:
* Designing PLC control systems for vehicle conversions
* Creating BOMs, wiring diagrams, and technical docs
* Working on bespoke boards and integrating devices
* Supporting production & aftersales
* Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations
* Optional PLC programming
What we’re looking for:
* HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical discipline
* Strong design & documentation skills
* Experience with PLCs, sensors, actuators, and vehicle systems
* Familiarity with LV mains, batteries, Office 365, Visio, SolidWorks Electrical
* Full UK Driving Licence
Bonus skills (nice to have): • RS Wire / PromisE • LabVIEW, C++ • Experience with HGV/LGV electrics
