About the company & role
The company is seeking a capable, hands-on Electrical Engineer to take ownership of electrical design and delivery across its group businesses. You’ll design, scope, and support the delivery of low‑ and high‑voltage (LV/HV) systems from concept through to commissioning, acting as the primary electrical point of contact and collaborating with Solutions, Projects, Technical, and Commissioning teams to ensure safe, compliant, and cost‑effective outcomes. The company is a leading provider of Critical/Emergency back-up Power systems such as a diesel generators.
Package
* £45,000–£55,000 (dependent on experience)
* Location: Company office in Avonmouth - open to hybrid remote working
* 40 hour week, Monday to Friday
* 25 days annual leave + 8 bank holidays

Responsibilities
* Carry out site surveys and develop electrical designs for LV and HV systems (where applicable).
* Define system scopes, produce concept designs, and support Solutions and Estimating with equipment specifications and pricing.
* Finalise electrical designs for live projects, including cable sizing, protection settings, and equipment selection.
* Support the Project Delivery team with technical input, procurement assistance, and installation guidance.
* Produce and maintain documentation: single‑line diagrams (SLDs), cable schedules, system descriptions, and control philosophies.
* Prepare and submit G99/G100 applications and ensure designs comply with relevant regulations and standards.
* Create and manage testing and commissioning documentation to ensure safe, compliant installations.
* Attend and contribute to internal and external design meetings, interfacing with clients, suppliers, and DNOs.
* Provide onsite technical support during commissioning and for complex electrical systems; perform HV switching if qualified or coordinate approved third parties for HV works.
Requirements
* 4+ years’ experience in the design and delivery of LV and HV systems.
* Strong competence in cable sizing, protection coordination, and overall system design.
* Working knowledge of G99/G100 standards and grid interface requirements.
* Ability to produce power and control schematics, SLDs, and supporting documentation.
* Proficient with AutoCAD (or similar) for producing and reviewing drawings.
* Comfortable working independently and managing workload across multiple projects; commercially aware with a pragmatic approach to site and cost considerations.
* HV SAP status is beneficial but not essential
