About the Role Electrical Engineering Graduate opportunity at EDF. You’ll join a 16-month training programme designed to build your technical expertise and professional confidence. You’ll rotate through placements across nuclear new build sites and operating stations, gaining hands-on experience in electrical systems, commissioning, safety case development, and more. You’ll also receive protected training time for courses such as Nuclear Fundamentals and Safety Culture, and be supported to begin your journey towards chartership with the Institution of Engineering and Technology or other relevant bodies. What You’ll Be Doing As an Electrical Engineering Graduate at EDF, you’ll gain hands-on experience, develop technical and professional skills, and contribute to meaningful projects that support the UK’s journey to net zero.
Support Grid Code compliance activities and stakeholder coordination Assist with electrical system design reviews including switchgear and power converters Contribute to nuclear safety case documentation and technical authoring Participate in site-based fault investigations and resolution Support commissioning teams at Hinkley Point C with test documentation and results
Your Work Location You’ll be based at one of our key sites: Gloucester, Bristol, Bridgwater, Hartlepool or Sizewell B. You’ll also have the opportunity for at least one placement away from your main location, gaining exposure to the wider EDF nuclear family. Most locations require 3–5 days in the office per week. Who You Are To be eligible for this EDF graduate programme, you need to have achieved, or be expecting to achieve, a 2:2 Bachelor’s or Postgraduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Electricity or a related subject. You’ll have a genuine interest in nuclear energy, strong communication and organisational skills, and a passion for solving technical problems.
