Electrical Engineer

An opportunity has arisen to recruit an Electrical Engineer to join the Engineering department within a Power Station environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of the long-term integrity of all HV and LV electrical systems on site, ensuring high levels of safety, reliability, technical and legal compliance.
They will also provide specialist support, guidance and technical advice to the Engineering and Maintenance teams on site, as well as long term planning and through-life management (including obsolescence) or site electrical infrastructure and systems.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the key duties and responsibilities will be:
* Ensuring compliance with Electrical Engineering Technical Procedures and external legislation.
* Determining maintenance and inspection requirements of electrical systems.
* Identifying, specifying and managing electrical biased contracts including contractor management.
* Input in to rolling 5 year business plan spend on electrical systems, including in-year management of spend and phasing through self and others.
* Planning and leading electrical inspection works during scheduled outages, to maintain integrity, reliability and compliance.
* Providing specialist electrical support and advice to Engineering and Maintenance teams on short term and long term issues.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Background
* Knowledge and experience of HV and LV electrical systems, including transmission and distribution.
* Knowledge and experience of HV and LV protection.
* Knowledge and experience of DSEAR management.

Qualifications
* Degree in an Electrical Engineering discipline, and/or a HND/HNC in an Electrical Engineering discipline with extensive industrial experience.
* Membership of a professional institution, or working towards membership and chartership
