Role

Electrical Building Services design and engineering professional responsible for design and specification of electrical systems across projects, from briefs to delivery.

Responsibilities

• Ensure an understanding of project briefs and design and specification of electrical building services systems (power, earthing, lighting, life safety, telecoms, security, access control, lifts, lightning protection, etc.).
• Carry out (and manage others on) the production of detailed calculations using industry-standard software tools including Excel, Dialux, Amtech, and in-house developed tools.
• Represent the organisation at meetings with clients and contractors.
• Conduct site surveys, inspections and monitor site works.
• Prepare reports and technical notes; maintain complete records and archives to company standards.
• Adhere to quality, environmental and governance processes.

Qualifications/Experience

• Degree qualified or equivalent qualification in Building Services Engineering / Electrical Engineering.
• Experience working in a design consultancy or a similar environment.
• Knowledge of electrical design within the built environment.
• Good report writing skills, experience presenting to and attending meetings with clients.
• Detailed knowledge of appropriate technical standards; able to take charge of project deliverables and act on own initiative.
• Good computer literacy in tools such as Amtech, Relux, Microsoft packages, CAD.
