PE Global is currently recruiting for Battery Electromechanical Design Engineer for a leading manufacturer of construction, mining equipment, engines, turbines, locomotives based in Peterborough.

Role is 12 months contract working on site 5 days a week and paying up to £28.94 ph PAYE or £39.28 ph Umbrella.

Duties of the role/Responsibilities • Gather and get agreement on requirements for Electrical harness, BDU, electrical component and hardware design • Contribute to risks assessments (DFMEAs), and update a risk reduction glidepath (to production) • 3D CAD design of Electrical System components, assemblies, LV harness and HV Cables • BOM Creation for EV electrical components, cabling and wiring • Concept development, structured collaborative down-selection through to production release • Lead the closure of testbed and in-field validation identified issues, communicating status to leadership • Communicate validation information and status to internal and external customers and team members • Develop and maintain a keen understanding of internal and external customers' needs • Keep up to date on new battery technologies, manufacturing methods and legislation requirements

Education/Experience • Accredited bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering subject - i.e. Engineering, Product design, etc. • 2 or more years of high voltage battery/EV powertrain ...
