PE Global is currently recruiting for Battery Electromechanical Design Engineer for a leading manufacturer of construction, mining equipment, engines, turbines, locomotives based in Peterborough.\n \nRole is 12 months contract working on site 5 days a week and paying up to £28.94 ph PAYE or £39.28 ph Umbrella.\n\nDuties of the role/Responsibilities \n• Gather and get agreement on requirements for Electrical harness, BDU, electrical component and hardware design\n• Contribute to risks assessments (DFMEAs), and update a risk reduction glidepath (to production)\n• 3D CAD design of Electrical System components, assemblies, LV harness and HV Cables\n• BOM Creation for EV electrical components, cabling and wiring\n• Concept development, structured collaborative down-selection through to production release\n• Lead the closure of testbed and in-field validation identified issues, communicating status to leadership\n• Communicate validation information and status to internal and external customers and team members\n• Develop and maintain a keen understanding of internal and external customers' needs\n• Keep up to date on new battery technologies, manufacturing methods and legislation requirements\n\nEducation/Experience \n• Accredited bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering subject - i.e. Engineering, Product design, etc.\n• 2 or more years of high voltage battery/EV powertrain design experience with good fundamental battery system knowledge\n• Design using PTC Creo including the packages Cabling, Schematics, Simulate, Engineering Drawing/Detailing\n• Concept development of designs through structured collaborative down-selection to production release\n• Experience with PLM tools\n• Experience of Product development through a structured NPI process\n• Experience on designing within the requirements of compliance standards\n• A passion to grow your design skills within a friendly, interactive and innovative global engineering team\n• Excellent communication skills, in person and remotely\n• Self-starter with good problem solving and planning skills\n• Ability to react dynamically to changes in priority whilst maintain process discipline\n\nInterested candidates should submit an updated CV.\n***Please note our client cannot assist with any visa sponsorship and candidates must have the correct visa to live and work in UK***\n\nAlthough it is not possible for us to respond to all applications, we at PE Global will do our upmost to give you feedback on your application.
