Overview

Elite Dual Fuel Commercial Metering Engineer (including Warrant Officer) – Edinburgh. Location: Edinburgh. Compensation: £43,260/year with realistic earnings £50K-£55K depending on location. Hours: 40 per week, Monday–Friday 8am–5pm; out-of-hours service 6am–8am and 5pm–8pm. On joining, you will be upskilled to handle three-phase, medium pressure metering, debt resolution visits, and Warrants as needed, with support from a dedicated back-office team.

Responsibilities

• Safe installation, exchange, commission, removal and ongoing maintenance of metering systems and associated equipment and communication systems.
• Undertake friendly debt resolution visits with the aim to fit a Smart Meter and collect outstanding debt (back-office support provided).
• Attend Warrants as the engineer and act as the Warrant Officer (never solo) where required, with back-office support.

Upskilling and Career Progression

• Upskill to Half Hourly / CT Metering, Gas U16–U40, Technical Lead, Quality Assessor, Regional Field Manager.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Essential Qualifications / Experience: Smart Metering (Dual Fuel) Experience; CMA1/CCN1 + MET1 (or equivalent); Certificate in Power (Logic or equivalent).
• Desirable: MET4 – Small commercial gas metering; Current Transformer (CT); Three Phase; REGT1-Medium Pressure.
• Additional Requirements: UK Driving Licence; colour vision test; DBS check.
