Position Overview

As a Finning Engineer, you’ll be part of a dynamic in-frame team, responding to customer service requests and ensuring top-notch support. This role is available in multiple locations: Leeds, Cannock, Cardiff, and Glasgow .

Your Role

As a Field Service Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

• Responding to customer service requests and diagnosing equipment issues.
• Providing detailed information to customers and Finning for accurate quotes.
• Estimating arrival times based on job instructions and customer needs.
• Communicating with site management to ensure adherence to customer procedures.
• Diagnosing equipment problems using specialized tools and collaborating with customer operators.
• Identifying required parts for repairs and coordinating service visits.
• Performing repairs and service work on a variety of Caterpillar engines and generators.

What We’re Looking For

To thrive in this role, you should have:

• A valid LDV driving license.
• Formal training (NVQ Level 3 preferred) and significant experience as a service engineer.
• Experience with gas and diesel engines, including generators (both LV and HV).
• Knowledge of field-based diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Experience with assembly and disassembly of diesel engines and components.
• Familiarity with Caterpillar large engines (e.g., 3400, 3500, 3600 series).
