OverviewField Support Engineer position with Thales, Stockport/Cheadle area, United Kingdom. The role involves supervision and conduct of deployment, setting to work and in service support of Sonar and/or Electronic Warfare Systems deployed on Royal Navy and export customers ships/submarines.What you will deliverSupport to both Royal Navy and Export Platforms in Defect Rectification: conduct and supervise front-line support including fault diagnosis and testing as well as acceptance trials both in harbour and at sea; provide on-call telephone support to customers; write site visit reports.Support to both Royal Navy and Export Platforms during Maintenance Periods/Refits: conduct pre-upkeep maintenance assessment (PUMA) inspections; conduct and supervise scheduled maintenance activities; advise the Service Delivery Manager of stores required for the refit; escalate engineering issues as required; write post maintenance reports.Weekly reports to the Service Delivery Manager/Field Services Manager: activities undertaken, upcoming activities, successes, challenges, opportunities; identify any support required from the project or department; ensure compliance with all export control rules and regulations including ITAR.What we offerCompetitive salary and benefits package including:Performance Related BonusHalf day every Friday, usually finishing around 13:00Hybrid WorkingPension Scheme28 days annual leave (Plus Bank Holidays)Life Cover24/7 Employee Assistance Program and access to mental wellbeing appEmployee discount shopping schemes on major brands and retailersGym membership discountsWho we are looking forSignificant track record of performance in a relevant engineering disciplinePreferably experienced with Complex Systems (Electrical, Electronic, and Hydraulic)Capable of taking the lead in resolving issues, problems, questions, and conflicts for the teamStrong interpersonal skillsAbility to communicate effectively at all levels, both verbally and in writingDemonstrated high level of self-motivationAbility to work effectively under pressureRequirements and noticesThe successful candidate will need full Security Clearance (SC) – For more information and guidance please visit the UKSV website.
