Overview Hazards Engineer or Senior Hazards Engineer required by a leading organisation delivering safety critical solutions within the nuclear and low carbon energy sectors. Location: Bristol, Epsom or Manchester (hybrid working available). Salary: £40,000 - £70,000. Type: Permanent. Role responsibilities
Lead the delivery of hazards safety cases and contribute to hazards assessments across multiple technical domains. Interface with civil, process and other engineering disciplines to develop safe, resilient energy systems. Develop innovative solutions to complex problems such as meteorological hazards impacting the nuclear fleet. Perform numerical analysis supporting fire, flooding and seismic hazard evaluations as part of the role. Engage with a diverse client base including nuclear new build, fusion, small modular reactors, defence and generation projects; support project delivery and clearly communicate findings to stakeholders.
Team and development Work within a multidisciplinary environment and collaborate with a global technical community. There are opportunities to mentor junior engineers and develop leadership capabilities in a supportive culture. Candidate requirements
Motivated to deliver technically excellent work with attention to detail and an understanding of broader project objectives. Experience in hazards assessment within safety critical or nuclear sectors is desirable.
