Job Title: Head Multi Skilled Engineer

Location: London (SW19)

Salary: £65,000 per annum

Job type: Full Time - Permanent. Working 5 Days per week. Position is 9 hours a day. Occasionally 6 days. Overtime may be required.

We are a busy bakery in SW19 producing fresh and frozen bread products on fully automated plant, semi-automated lines, and by hand. We pride ourselves on high-quality products and are looking to expand with a Head Engineer who has long-term commitment.

Responsibilities

• Fault finding
• Able to work under pressure and to deadlines
• Adhere to all policies and practices as requested
• Work on ovens, mixing, bagging and slicing machines
• Identify parts that are worn or broken and replace with Miller's core suppliers, ensuring comparable specifications
• Hands-on approach
• Multi-skilled
• Daily checks and maintenance
• Work independently
• Communication with other staff members
• Preventive maintenance
• Organised & proactive
• Point of contact for contractors on-site, sign in, complete inductions, health questionnaires
• Follow up work planning with production, keeping records
• Keep up to date with health & safety
• Document new procedures and schedules
• Line & machine checks pre-production
• Represent the department during external audits
• Walk the line during production checking parts & machines
• Motor replacement when required
• Welding
• Electrical work & any other duties relevant to the role
• Managing a small team of 4
• Ordering parts & stock control

Requirements

• Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate with a variety of people
• Good English & oral communication
• Experience in the food industry
• Self-driven and motivated
• Sense of ownership and pride in work
• Previous engineering qualification desirable

Salary: £65,000.00 per year depending on experience plus overtime
