Hydraulic Valve Design Engineer

Location: Coventry, UK Salary: £55,000 – £60,000 Contract Type: Permanent

We are seeking an experienced Hydraulic Valve Design Engineer to take ownership of the design and development of high-performance hydraulic valves used in safety-critical systems. This is a hands-on design role where you will be responsible for driving innovative solutions across the full product lifecycle — from initial concept and 3D design through to validation, testing, and production support.

This opportunity is ideal for an engineer with a strong mechanical background, a detailed understanding of hydraulic valve principles, and a passion for designing precision-engineered components that deliver reliability and performance.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Hydraulic Valve Design Engineer, you will:

Lead the design, modelling, and development of hydraulic valves and fluid power components. Use CAD and engineering analysis to produce innovative design solutions that meet stringent performance requirements. Conduct detailed design validation activities, including FEA, tolerance stack-ups, and performance simulations. Translate technical requirements into robust engineering designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
