Infrastructure Engineers - MS Azure - Canary Wharf/London - Hybrid - Basic £50,000 plus £7,000 bonus and 10% salary review.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and support cloud infrastructure and services and releases of new technologies.
  • Design, deploy and manage cloud infrastructure solutions, ideally on MS Azure, and ensure provisioning, installation, configuration and operation and maintenance of hardware and software and related infrastructure.
  • Implement and manage cloud-native architectures, microservices and serverless applications.
  • Develop and maintain automated deployment pipelines and infrastructure as code (IaC).
  • Use configuration management tools to streamline provisioning and management of cloud resources.
  • Monitor and optimise cloud resources and troubleshoot performance and security issues.
  • Apply cloud security best practices, identity and access management (IAM), encryption mechanisms, and ensure compliance (e.g., GDPR).
  • Maintain knowledge of networking concepts (e.g., VPCs, subnets) and understand cloud concepts, architectures and IaaS/PaaS/SaaS.
  • Work with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker) and container orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes) in cloud environments.
  • Collaborate on DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines and related tools (Jenkins, GitLab, CircleCI).
  • Participate in monitoring, alerting and incidents to ensure high availability and security of cloud infrastructure.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a similar Infrastructure Engineer role with hands-on Azure cloud experience.
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts, VPNs/VPCs, subnets, and cloud architectures across IaaS, PaaS and SaaS.
  • Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) in cloud environments.
  • Knowledge of cloud security best practices, IAM, encryption and data protection.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation (Python, PowerShell, Bash).
  • Experience with IaC tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, CircleCI).
  • Strong monitoring and troubleshooting skills for cloud infrastructure performance and security.
  • Understanding of data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
