The Role
FairHeat’s Junior Engineer (Placement) is a year in industry placement position. It is based on the programme of the FairHeat Graduate Scheme, customised to fit an accelerated timeframe of 12-months, giving each individual a full experience of the business with an opportunity to produce research.
The programme is carefully structured with rotation through different departments within FairHeat. The programme is focused on developing technical competencies, as well as the overall consulting engineering tool kit.
The primary route for developing skills is through project work and a proactive approach is taken to ensure that Junior Engineers (Placement) get a broad exposure to the different types of work over the 10-month period through two 5-month departmental rotations.
The programme is challenging, with substantial amounts of time on site and it is expected that Junior Engineers (Placement) will be proactively engaging with clients on projects from day one. It offers student engineers a fast-track for them to develop expertise in a new and quickly developing industry where there is a huge demand for knowledgeable and competent engineers.
FairHeat’s Graduate Scheme has a successful record of accomplishment to date. The programme has been recognised as industry leading and won several awards, including the CIBSE Young Engineers Awards on several occasions. Over 90% of the engineers that joined as graduates are still working at FairHeat with many of them now at Associate or Senior level within the business, leading departments and teams.
