LCDAE / CDAE Engineer

1-year contract

St Austell, Cornwall (with travel elsewhere as required)

£500 - £550 / day - Inside IR35

A Lead Contractor Design Approval Engineer (LCDAE) is required to join a design consultancy working on a 1-year contract in Cornwall. As a LCDAE, you will be required to lead large-scale design projects, overseeing all phases from FEED (Front-End Engineering Design) to project closeout. Responsibilities include managing projects from start to finish acting as a key point of contact for stakeholders, and ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to client satisfaction. You will also lead contract negotiations, actively pursue new business opportunities, manage subcontractors, lead engineering design efforts across the UK business, drive strategic development of the department and contribute to business planning, and act as principal designer representative (PD Rep).

The successful candidate will have been signed off as an LCDAE or CDAE, be degree qualified in the relevant discipline with design management experience, have an advanced understanding of UK CDM Regulations and different form of contracts such as NEC and FIDIC), and have experience managing multiple high-value, complex projects, including working on National Grid Electricity Transmission projects.
