Overview

Lead Engineer — Permanent opportunity in Malvern. Monday to Thursday 8:00–16:45, Friday 8:00–12:00. Industry: automotive manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Develop initial concept layouts and analyze designs including loading, thermal performance and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Collaborate with manufacturing/production engineering to ensure optimal assembly processes with minimal manufacturing restraints, including tooling choices for the project.
• Liaise with customers and ensure deliverables meet RFQ/Gateway requirements.
• Generate forecasted budgets for each project and manage planned vs actual spend.

Essential Experience / Qualifications

• Degree qualified or equivalent in relevant engineering discipline.
• Experience and understanding of GD&T and technical knowledge of design processes.
• Experience managing direct reports.
• Ability to manage projects within a fast-paced environment (automotive experience is advantageous).
