HOURS: Full time

WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid, 40% (or two days) a week at our Manchester office.

End Date: Monday 22 September 2025

We’re building software that people rely on every day—and we care deeply about making it secure, resilient, and easy to use. As a Lead Software Quality Engineer, you’ll help shape how we test and improve our products, using smart tools and thoughtful approaches. We’re excited about the potential of AI-powered testing and automation, and we’d love for you to explore that with us!

We believe quality is a shared responsibility, and we’re looking for someone who enjoys working closely with others, sharing ideas, and helping teams grow. If you’re curious, collaborative, and keen to make a real impact—this could be a great fit!

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Designing and evolving automation frameworks that are easy to maintain and scale.
  • Using tools like Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, TestNG, JUnit, and Cucumber—and staying open to trying new ones.
  • Embedding testing into delivery pipelines with Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, and Harness.
  • Applying modern practices around security, resilience, accessibility, and observability, using tools like Chaos Monkey, OWASP ZAP, SonarQube, and Dynatrace.
  • Working with engineers and product teams to define clear, shared expectations for quality.
  • Supporting continuous improvement through mentoring, coaching, and learning together.
  • Collaborating in Agile environments (Scrum, SAFe) to help teams deliver thoughtfully and effectively.
  • Taking shared responsibility for the quality of key platforms and working alongside engineers to build robust, clean code.
  • Bonus! Exploring how AI tools can enhance automation and testing strategies.

What You’ll Bring

  • A curious mindset and a love for solving problems—especially with others.
  • Clear communication skills—you can explain ideas in ways that make sense to different audiences.
  • A collaborative approach—you enjoy working with others to find practical, sustainable solutions.
  • A genuine interest in helping people grow and in learning new things yourself.
