OverviewMERITUS are working with one of Europe's leading defence manufacturers for the recruitment of a Maintenance Engineer to join their Stevenage site on a 12 Month contract basis. The role is full time on site paying £40 per hour via umbrella, and requires the incumbent to be a sole UK National as the customer would look to start a security clearance.ResponsibilitiesProvide day-to-day support to operations teams.Conduct repairs on process equipment and environmental stress screening facilities.Use technical documentation (drawings, schematics, manuals) to provide guidance and carry out repairs.Apply knowledge of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) to maintain equipment effectively.Perform accurate fault finding and repairs down to component level.Support continuous improvement and technical troubleshooting across the team.Mentor junior staff when requested by the line manager.QualificationsMinimum qualification: HNC in a relevant engineering subject.Proven experience in fault finding to component level.Ability to interpret and use instructions, handbooks, drawings, and specifications.Strong understanding and experience of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM).Skilled in taking precise measurements down to component level.Experience working on manufacturing process equipment (experience with CCA manufacture desirable).Familiarity with vibration shakers and environmental chambers (desirable).Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.Experience mentoring junior staff.Working knowledge of SAP (desirable). #J-18808-Ljbffr
