Your designs and detailed engineering work will ensure robust mechanical and thermal performance of critical subsystems, enabling Proxima’s mission to deliver clean, sustainable fusion energy.What You Will DoDevelop concepts and detailed mechanical designs for significant systems within the core Alpha stellarator, ensuring integration with the broader physics, mechanical and structural systems.Provide innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges inherent in stellarator fusion machines to streamline the overall Alpha system design.Perform thermal and structural analysis to validate engineering choices.Conduct technology trade-offs, materials selections and feasibility studies to facilitate the successful identification of the Alpha net energy stellarator.Advance Alpha systems from concept through detailed analysis, verification and prototyping to meet Proxima timelines.Who You AreHigh performers who love challenges and are not afraid to experiment, take risks and learn from mistakes.Experienced Mechanical Design Engineers with proficiency in CAD and finite element analysis software (experience with CATIA and ANSYS is beneficial but not essential).Experience in designing complex mechanical systems, ideally within fusion, fission, aerospace or similar high-tech fields.Experience in thermo-mechanical analyses, ideally with knowledge of high temperature, cryogenic and vacuum engineering principles and materials selection.Strong collaborator with excellent communication and problem-solving skills, proactive in identifying and addressing engineering challenges.Interview ProcessRecruiter Interview (30-60 min).Technical Screening (30 min).Technical Panel (3x60 min).CEO call (30 min).Equal OpportunityAt Proxima Fusion, our mission is bold: making limitless clean energy a reality.
