Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Huddersfield - On-site

Role Type: Contract - 12 months+

Rate: £40.00 - £50.00 per hour - OUTSIDE IR35

Our client, an established engineering consultancy operating in Huddersfield, require an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join their multi-disciplined team.

Due to the nature of our clients' work and timescales involved this role would require candidates to possess active SC Clearance to start.

What the role of the Mechanical Design Engineer entails:

Some of the main duties of the Mechanical Design Engineer will include:

Carry out detail design activities to meet the requirements of design for manufacture Hand calculations and preliminary sizing of components, including material selection, gear rating, shaft and bearing analysis, rotor dynamics, other drive system elements including structural components, couplings, lubrication systems, relevant instrumentation and control systems CAD activities including conceptual design, 3D and 2D modelling. Create component and complex assembly drawings. Drawing and technical documentation checking.
