Job Description

You’ll be based full-time in Bridgwater, working between the site and the project office. To support those moving closer, we can offer a relocation package. This role focuses on mechanical equipment contracts, covering design, manufacturing, and qualification oversight. You’ll coordinate between suppliers, client teams, and Responsible Designer functions to keep technical requirements on track. Your future team will depend on you to ensure smooth progress across complex engineering interfaces.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical surveillance and review of contractor deliverables (design documentation)
  • Review contract amendments, exemptions, non-conformances, open points, and design changes
  • Drive resolution of technical issues and queries
  • Manage evolution of contract and related design changes
  • Perform technical assessment of tenders (design, qualification, manufacturing)
  • Coordinate and participate in technical meetings with clients and suppliers
  • Ensure integration of equipment with interfacing systems and functions
  • Mentor and support colleagues in developing technical knowledge
  • Report key performance indicators (KPIs) to Contract Engineering Lead (CEL)
  • Monitor qualification activities to align with contract and site requirements

Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical or Nuclear Engineering
  • Experience in mechanical equipment design, manufacture, or operation
  • Strong skills in managing equipment interfaces (safety case, systems engineering, civil interfaces)
  • Strong organisational/time-management capabilities
  • Proficient with Navisworks, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, PDMS, Aveva E3D, etc.

Desired Skills

  • Experience with change-management and deliverable systems (e.g. UKDC, UKICM, OPM, CEMAR, Teamcenter)
  • Background in contract management/documentary surveillance
