    Requirements for the role of Mechanical Pump and Drainage Engineer:

  • Relevant mechanical engineering qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
  • Experience in pump and drainage systems, including both reactive and planned maintenance.
  • Demonstrable mechanical aptitude and technical ability.
  • Ability to diagnose faults, problem-solve, and deliver effective solutions.
  • Capable of working independently, taking responsibility, and overcoming challenges on-site.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to complete accurate service reports and logbooks.
  • Physically capable of manual work, including lifting and working in confined spaces.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Carry out reactive repairs and emergency callouts to pumps, pumping stations, and drainage systems.
  • Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on pumps, drainage, and associated mechanical equipment.
  • Inspect, test, and service a range of pumping and drainage systems to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Fault-finding, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical and electrical issues on-site.
  • Routine maintenance of valves, pipework, and drainage systems.
  • Cleaning, unblocking, and inspecting drainage networks.
  • Maintain detailed reports, logbooks, and compliance documentation.
  • Work in line with health & safety legislation and company procedures at all times.
  • This is a permanent role.
