Overview The Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation (MEICA) role is vital to the effective running of our flood risk pumping stations, water control structures and our wider business. You will be joining a MEICA team helping to prioritise, plan and deliver the maintenance or replacement of assets enabling flood protection to homes, businesses and the environment. You will work closely with external contractors to develop a world class asset management organisation and play a key role as the team progresses against climate challenges. Responsibilities
Provide strong technical leadership to assure technical and design standards across MEICA activity. Monitor quality and advise on requirements to meet specialist MEICA technical, safety, legal, environmental and operational standards across multiple geographic areas. Liaise with a wide range of business partners and lead actions on behalf of the MEICA Team Leader and Operations Managers. Offer technical mechanical support and direction to team members and respond to flood incidents as part of the MEICA team.
Experience and Qualifications
Comprehensive knowledge of engineering-related statutory legislation, British and European standards. Experience leading safety investigations and disseminating learning to drive improvements in engineering and behavioural safety. Knowledge and experience of root cause analysis, reliability engineering, process improvement, technical leadership, and writing/reviewing technical specifications. Educated to a minimum of HNC/D or degree level in an appropriate Mechanical discipline. Full UK Driving Licence is essential. Role-specific professional membership: registration with IEng or CEng is preferred but not essential.
Location and Working Arrangements You can be based at listed locations with occasional hybrid homeworking and site visits. A full UK driving licence is essential for the role.
