Full-time, Permanent Join our clients' thriving bakery, renowned for producing high-quality fresh and frozen bread products using a mix of fully automated, semi-automated, and manual processes. We are seeking a dedicated Head Multi Skilled Engineer to lead engineering efforts and support expansion with a long-term commitment. You will be managing a team of 4 engineer and will require flexibility to work weekends (typically one Saturday or Sunday) and occasionally a 6-day week. The position involves managing three sites within walking distance of each other. Day-to-day of the role: Conduct fault finding, maintenance, and repairs on bakery equipment including ovens, mixing, bagging, and slicing machines. Perform daily checks and preventive maintenance to ensure equipment operates at optimal levels. Manage a small team of 4 engineers, fostering teamwork and effective communication. Serve as the primary point of contact for contractors, overseeing site inductions and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. Coordinate with production teams to plan and follow up on maintenance schedules, keeping detailed records of all activities. Engage in hands-on tasks such as motor replacement, welding, and electrical work, adapting to both mechanical and electrical elements of the role. Develop and document new procedures and schedules, ensuring they are up-to-date and adhered to during external audits and daily operations. Required Skills & Qualifications: Proven experience in a similar role within the food industry, ideally with a focus on bakery operations. Strong mechanical and electrical skills, with the ability to work independently and under pressure. Excellent communication skills, proficient in English, both written and oral. Previous engineering qualifications are desirable. Demonstrated ability to manage and lead a team, with a hands-on and proactive approach to tasks. Benefits: 20 days holiday plus bank holidays.
