Nuclear Safety Case Engineer. Must be a sole British and eligible for SC clearance due to project requirements. Permanent | Remote working (2 days a quarter in Cumbria) | £60,000+ (DOE).

About the role

Copello are working with a leading defence and engineering organisation to recruit a Nuclear Safety Case Engineer to join a long-term programme at the forefront of the UKs nuclear sector.

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working in high-integrity, regulated environments and wants to take real ownership of key safety deliverables. Youll be part of a team that directly supports the development and ongoing assurance of nuclear safety cases, working closely with Engineering, Human Factors and Site Safety teams to keep standards high and the plant safe.

Responsibilities

• Writing and reviewing nuclear substantiation and safety case documentation
• Supporting periodic reviews and safety case implementation
• Leading on your own deliverables and contributing to the wider teams development
• Engaging with stakeholders across technical and operational functions
• Reviewing analysis, calculations and other supporting evidence for safety justifications

What were looking for

• Background in nuclear safety, safety case development, or substantiation work
• Experience in a regulated or high-hazard industry (nuclear, defence, etc.)
• Confident producing well-structured technical reports
• Comfortable collaborating with engineering and assurance teams
• Degree-qualified in a STEM subject
