Overview

WSP is looking for Principal Engineers and Associates to join our Digital industry-leading Intelligent Infrastructure team. We are expanding our Digital Infrastructure Design Capability across all areas and seek individuals who have a strong enthusiasm for digital technologies and digital design methodologies. We value questioning traditional design practices, challenging the status quo, and conceiving innovative solutions to enhance design and delivery processes.

What you will do

  • Lead infrastructure design schemes at both discipline and multi-discipline levels (dependent on grade) using experience in roadside infrastructure design.
  • Collaborate effectively with the team, lead problem-solving efforts, provide support, and address gaps as necessary.
  • Be accountable for the quality of outputs from the team, ensuring they meet high expectations.
  • Engage with clients professionally, navigate client needs in line with corporate responsibilities, and escalate issues to senior staff when appropriate.

What we will be looking for you to demonstrate

  • A degree in a relevant engineering discipline and working towards professional registration with an accredited institute.
  • Domain knowledge in relevant industries such as power, communications, electrical, electronics, and highway design.
  • Understanding of roadside infrastructure and design standards.
  • Ability to lead design processes and use design tools; lead a team in delivering designs or schemes.
  • Ability to collaborate with colleagues from other disciplines and with clients, managing expectations.
  • Ability to undertake the role of lead engineer to take a scheme from inception to handover with the client.
  • Ability to motivate, develop and lead junior team members; encourage growth and performance.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and self-motivation to undertake tasks with minimal peer support.
