Overview
Senior / Principal Structural Integrity Safety Case Engineer needed to assess risks for nuclear clients and contribute to low carbon energy ambitions. You will join one of the strongest structural integrity safety case capabilities in the industry, working across key clients.
Your purpose
On a typical day, you might be leading a team to produce engineering substantiation or authoring a complex safety case, justifying and supporting the critical decision-making in the design, operation, and/or decommissioning of nuclear facilities. Another day you may influence the client's strategic direction to address structural integrity challenges associated with new build designs or continued operation of existing assets, networking to develop the business pipeline within your capability, or delivering a technical presentation to the regulator.
This role provides opportunities to work with diverse clients from nuclear generation (Advanced Gas Cooled Reactors and Sizewell B), Rolls Royce Pressurised Water Reactors, nuclear new build such as Hinkley Point C and Sizewell C, and innovative players from the fusion and SMR markets. You will be keen to lead technical delivery of projects, address technically complex problems, and present solutions to different stakeholders. You will have the drive to deliver excellent technical work, paying attention to detail while keeping the bigger picture in mind.
You will have the opportunity to contribute to and learn from the wider technical community within AtkinsRéalis, collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams. You will also play a vital role in developing and mentoring junior engineers to support growth and improve project delivery capabilities while strengthening your leadership skills.
