In this strategic role, you will partner with underwriters and business leaders to streamline processes, enhance compliance, and drive operational excellence across complex liability lines, including general liability, auto liability, and workers' compensation. You will take ownership of end-to-end process reviews, design scalable solutions that improve efficiency and accuracy, and champion automation initiatives in collaboration with technology teams. By analysing underwriting data, developing robust process documentation, and ensuring regulatory compliance, you will play a critical role in strengthening our operations and delivering measurable business impact. Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end process reviews for casualty underwriting, including general liability, auto liability, and workers' compensation Identify inefficiencies and design scalable solutions that enhance underwriting speed, accuracy, and compliance Develop and maintain detailed process documentation, SOPs, and workflow diagrams Champion automation and digital initiatives, partnering with IT and business teams to implement tools and platforms Analyze underwriting data to uncover trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement Serve as a liaison between underwriting, compliance, and operations teams to ensure alignment Mentor junior analysts and contribute to knowledge-sharing across the organization Support audit readiness and ensure adherence to internal controls and regulatory standards Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership and underwriting executives
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Risk Management, Insurance, or related field (Master's preferred) 7+ years of experience in process analysis within casualty insurance or underwriting operations Strong understanding of casualty risk assessment and policy lifecycle Expertise in process modeling tools (e.g., Visio, BPMN) and data analytics (Excel, SQL, Power BI) Proven track record of leading cross-functional process improvement projects Familiarity with underwriting platforms (e.g., Guidewire, Duck Creek) Certifications in Lean Six Sigma, BPM, or similar methodologies highly desirable Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills
