Key aspects of the role include: Supporting the Vehicle Control Key Safety Function, with a focus on navigation systems. Conducting Hazard Identification (HAZID) and Hazard Analysis (HAZAN) in support of submarine design. Producing detailed Product Safety functional justification reports. Collaborating with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. Providing technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced engineers. Delivering specialist safety advice to systems engineers across various submarine programmes.

Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications Functional Safety principles, particularly for complex, software-centric systems. HAZID and HAZAN techniques. Experience with submarine systems, ideally vehicle control or navigation functions. Expertise in producing Formal Safety Assessments.
