Job Summary:
The Senior QA Engineer at Assured Data Protection is a member of the agile development team and has a key role in ensuring our software is reliable and supports to minimise errors and defects. The role of a Senior QA Engineer is to be a role model for good quality tests and guide others in best practices in software testing. You will have excellent knowledge in all aspects of the software development and testing lifecycle working in an Agile environment. You will help in ensuring that our software meets the defined requirements, quality, and our clients\' expectations.

Job Overview

The QA Engineer at Assured Data Protection is a member of the agile development team and has a part in requiring our software is reliable and helps to minimise errors and defects. The role for a QA Engineer is to provide good quality tests and follow best practices in software testing. You understand the software development and testing lifecycle working in an Agile environment. You will ensure that our software meets the defined requirements, quality, and our clients\' expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Software Testing:
    • Understand the differences between the various testing types and the benefit each provides.
    • Able to create a variety of tests to support different stages in the development lifecycle.
    • Understand and analyse Acceptance Criteria and produce tests according to the requirements.
    • Provide clear and concise defect reports and able to document / demonstrate steps to reproduce.
    • Have good communication skills.
    • Able to work autonomously or part of a team.
    • Ability to prioritise and organise their tasks.
  • Testing Processes:
    • Follow and have an input into areas of improvement to our software testing processes.
    • Be a member of the Agile development team, following the ways of working and our Scrum adoption.
    • Collaborate closely with the team to determine the software requirements defined.
  • Developers:
    • Work closely with the developers to ensure work is completed and tested within the agreed deadlines.
    • Maintain software quality through testing protocols, and documentation practices.
    • Contribute to software releases by ensuring they are tested to the correct level.
  • Collaboration:
    • Able to work with other teams such as Support/ Marketing/ Client Services to ensure our software is tested in line with their needs.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 3-5 Years experience of software testing, ideally in an Agile working environment (Scrum or Kanban).
  • Good knowledge of the software development and testing lifecycle and agile methodologies.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Attention to details.

Desirable Attributes:

  • ISTQB Foundation
  • Knowledge of Performance Testing
  • Knowledge of Automation Testing
  • Knowledge of API Testing
  • Willingness to learn new skills.
  • Ability to prioritise and organise their tasks.

Technical:

  • Jira/ Confluence or other project management tools.
  • MySQL/ SQL Databases
  • Postman (nice to have)
  • Playwright (nice to have)
  • VSCode (nice to have)
  • QAlityPlus (nice to have)
