What you’ll do

  • Be involved in the entire Software Delivery Lifecycle.
  • Build, maintain and improve automation test frameworks.
  • Work with the delivery team to turn requirements into fully automated test sets.
  • Provide detailed metrics from the automated test results.
  • Prevent the creation of defects in our software.
  • Work proactively with the team to instil quality into our product, processes & practices.
  • Embed modern testing approaches as a part of whole-team responsibility for quality.

Business Requirements / Qualifications

  • Communicate and collaborate effectively in an Agile environment.
  • Experience of Performance and Security Testing desirable.
  • Confident in presenting and demoing to wider business areas.
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced Agile environment.
  • A cradle-to-grave approach to ‘baking quality in’ to software delivery.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • A proactive, positive ‘can-do’ attitude.
  • A desire to learn the latest technologies in the market and help to implement those into QA at CDL.
  • Solution-oriented.
  • Insurance experience desirable.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • An excellent understanding of the principles of Agile testing.
  • Experience automating API tests using frameworks such as Karate, SOAPUI, Rest Assured or similar.
  • Experience with front-end automation tools such as Playwright, Cypress or similar.
  • Experience with cloud-based infrastructure; cloud practitioner or similar qualification is desirable.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests into the pipeline.
  • Proven knowledge of databases and SQL.
  • Experience with TDD and BDD techniques.

Salary & Benefits

The salary for the role pays up to £39,000 per annum, with progression through CDL’s career framework. Growth and advancement are aligned with ambition and effort.

  • Hybrid working (2 days per week in the office, SK4 2HD)
  • Flexible working
  • 25 days holiday, increasing by 1 day per year of service up to 30 days
