Bristol
We are currently recruiting for an exciting opportunity as a Quality Engineer within our Defence Manufacturing business in Bristol. This area of the business has a broad and expanding capability across a diverse product portfolio — including new product manufacture for the JSF LiftSystem within LiftWorks, as well as component repair work across key Defence programmes such as EJ200, Adour, and TP400.
This role will see you providing quality assurance support to both Original Equipment Manufacture (OEM) and repair activities. You’ll ensure adherence to regulatory standards including UK MoD, MAA MRP145, and the Rolls-Royce Management System. Working closely with Manufacturing Engineering and Operations, your focus will be on reducing the Cost of Non-Quality and improving right-first-time performance. It’s an excellent opportunity for career development within a high-impact environment.
Why Rolls-Royce?
Rolls-Royce is one of the world’s most respected and enduring brands, leading innovation for more than 100 years. We design, build, and service systems that deliver vital power in sectors where safety and reliability are critical.
We are proud to power, protect, and connect people across the globe. Our ambition is to ensure that the innovation and excellence that define our history continue into the future — and we need talented individuals like you to help drive that vision forward.
We foster a workplace culture of care and belonging where you can truly be yourself. You’ll benefit from an inclusive and forward-thinking environment, with access to diverse opportunities where you can develop, grow your career, and make a real impact.
What We Offer
We provide excellent development opportunities, a competitive salary, and a comprehensive benefits package — including bonus schemes, employee assistance support, and exclusive employee discounts.
We understand everyone’s needs are unique. Hybrid working enables you to split your time between the office, home, or another suitable location. While this is a flexible and informal arrangement, we expect on average three days per week in the workplace to support collaboration and business needs.
What You’ll Be Doing
In this role you'll:
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (MAA MRP145, AS9100, AS9110)
- Take part in Defence audit programmes and guide external auditors as required
- Support the resolution of Quality Notifications, MARS investigations, and audit non-conformance reports
- Work with Manufacturing Engineering to improve right-first-time outcomes and reduce non-quality costs
- Use visual management to clearly communicate activities and achievements
At Rolls-Royce, we live by our core principles: Put Safety First, Do the Right Thing, Keep it Simple, and Make a Difference. These values guide our behaviours and form a key part of how we assess potential candidates.
We’re Looking For Individuals With
- Experience in managing non-conformances
- Training or experience in structured problem-solving (8D process preferred)
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills
- A data-driven approach to decision-making (Lean/Six Sigma – Green Belt preferred)
- Experience in process auditing and internal audit qualifications (Lead Auditor desirable)
We actively welcome applications from people with a refugee background.
