OverviewJohn Sisk & Son have been building excellence as a family-owned international construction company by offering trust, certainty and value to our clients whilst being at the heart of change.The Section Engineer will be based on our Birchley Island project with the first 2 months being night work doing trial holes then 6 months on the ECI phase before moving into main junction improvement work.The Section Engineer is responsible for setting-out the site and dimensional controls in accordance with the relevant contract Drawings, Specification and Site Surveys. Ensures that all relevant tolerances have been catered for without compromising quality or loss of floor space. Is tasked with reviewing construction outputs and planning the most efficient sequence of operations with an emphasis on control of the works, quality and technical advice. The Engineer will carry out their work in accordance with company standard procedures and discharge their duties as listed in the Sisk Safety Statement/Policy.ResponsibilitiesSets out the works in accordance with drawings, specifications and site surveysLiaises with the project planners regarding construction programmes and supplier outputsChecks materials and works in progress for compliance with the specified requirements, whilst observing the Sisk Q10Adheres to all safety company requirements as outlined in the company safety statementInputs into specific elements of the Inspection and Test Plans, and ensures that our supply chain provide test data to back up the contract technical requirementsRaises RFI’s and resolves technical issues with employer’s representatives, suppliers, subcontractors and statutory authoritiesQuality control and record keeping in accordance with procedural method statements, quality plans and inspection and test plans which have been prepared by the project management team and by subcontractorsExperienceAt least 3 years post qualification experience with good knowledge of the sector or experience within a project-based organisationArticulate and numerate capable of delivering reports verbally and written in an objective and persuasive mannerDisplays good interpersonal and communication skills and acts in an inependent and professional manner with the ability to influence others including senior managementWorking knowledge of Control of TemporaryWorks (ability to act as the TWC advantageous)QualificationsDegree / Diploma in EngineeringSMSTS / MSICFirst Aid CourseLifting Supervisor CertificationTemporary WorksCoordinator trained (TWC)Chartered or working towards professional status with Engineers Ireland or Institute of Civil EngineersFlood/Water experience is desirableAdditional InformationCompetitive SalaryCompany Car or Car Allowance26 days holiday (option to purchase 5 more)Employer pensionCompetitive mileage rateTravel expensesFlexible and remote workingEnhanced parental leaveProfessional and Educational development Our people are at the heart of our success and our proposition to them is work with purpose, have time for life, build a career with no limits and surround yourself with great people.Our Internal Recruitment Team fulfil all vacancies on a direct basis.
