Responsibilities

  • Write playbooks and modules to implement hardening controls and manage configuration tools in a variety of environments at different accreditation levels.
  • Upgrade, support, and optimize automation tools to create a highly available, resilient, and self-healing environment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with automation tools and their implementations, recommending and implementing changes to enhance, stabilize, and secure ongoing operation.
  • Enable Maxar infrastructure teams to deploy and maintain compliant systems using standards and configuration state management tools tailored to compliance requirements.
  • Continuously monitor operational system performance and usage, and refine tools to reduce complexity, increase reliability, and balance timeliness with cost efficiency.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen and willing to obtain Secret Security clearance
  • At least two years of software development or infrastructure engineering experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or two additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree
  • Ability to be on call on a rotating basis
  • Linux system administration experience
  • Experience using and/or administering a variety of open-source technologies
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation)
  • Familiarity with Bash/Python/Perl/Ruby
  • Ansible Tower or AWX writing Ansible playbooks and roles
  • Satellite and Puppet
  • Windows system administration experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active Secret or TS/SCI U.S. security clearance
  • PowerShell training
  • SCCM
  • Group policy
  • Imaging baselines
  • OS Repositories
  • Experience implementing compliance standards (e.g., STIG, CIS, NIST 800-171)
  • Cloud environment experience (AWS, Azure, GCP or other)
  • Experience using Ansible, Satellite, Ubuntu Landscape or equivalent technologies
  • CI/CD experience
  • Git experience
  • Agile development experience
