Senior Civil Engineer\nNottingham | £40,000 - £50,000 + Hybrid + Flexible Working Hours + Bonus + Christmas Shutdown\n\nWe are seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join a growing consultancy in Nottingham. This is a great opportunity to take a leading role within a small, supportive team delivering a wide variety of civil and structural engineering projects, including public realm schemes, highways, active travel, residential developments, commercial units, schools, and high-tech industrial facilities.\n\nThe Role\n\n * Supervise and manage the delivery of multiple projects, leading small delivery teams from pre-planning through to on-site delivery.\n\n * Produce and check civil engineering designs, including levels, drainage, earthworks, and external works, ensuring technical quality and client satisfaction.\n\n * Prepare and review highway design packages to Local Authority approval standards.\n\n * Mentor junior team members, supporting their development and ensuring quality standards are met.\n\n * Oversee commercial aspects of smaller schemes, including proposals, invoicing, and managing variations.\n\n * Coordinate civil engineering design with in-house structural teams and with external multidisciplinary consultants.\n\n * Lead by example, maintaining professionalism, diligence, and a strong commitment to continuous improvement.\n\nAbout You\n\n * Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.\n\n * Chartered, or working towards Chartered status, with a recognised institution (e.g. ICE).\n\n * Strong background across a range of civil engineering disciplines, with experience delivering schemes to both private and public sector standards.\n\n * Good knowledge of relevant codes and standards, including Building Regulations, Local Authority guidance, DMRB, Specification for Highway Works, and Sewerage Sector Guidance.\n\n * Experience working with Sectional Agreements under the Highways Act (S38, S278) and Water Industry Act (S104, S106).\n\n * Proficient in industry-standard design software such as Civil 3D, PDS, Flow, and MicroDrainage.\n\n * Capable of managing competing workloads and leading small project delivery teams.\n\n * Strong communication and organisational skills with a proactive approach.\n\nWhat’s on Offer\n\n * Competitive salary with progression opportunities.\n\n * Up to 25 days annual leave + bank holidays + your birthday off + office closed over Christmas (typically two weeks, not taken from holiday allowance).\n\n * Flexible working options following probation.\n\n * Workplace pension scheme (5% employee contribution / 3% employer contribution, reviewed annually).\n\n * Regular CPD sessions tailored to your role and career progression.\n\n * Annual bonus scheme linked to company performance.\n\n * Free gym membership.\n\n * Cycle to work scheme.\n\nCulture & Development\n\nYou’ll be joining a consultancy that values collaboration, progression, and technical excellence.
