Senior Civil / Structural Design Engineer

We are recruiting for a Senior Civil / Structural Design Engineer to join our Building Engineering Team in Newark. We offer flexible, hybrid working environments. About The Design Business: RPS Design Division delivers projects across various sectors including residential, logistics, retail, healthcare, education, energy, and more. We focus on balancing form and function, sustainability, materiality, cost, and constructability, supported by digitalisation that enhances project delivery from concept to completion.

What you’ll be doing:

Collaborate with the team, delegate tasks, and communicate effectively
Mentor junior colleagues and provide technical guidance
Participate in project and client meetings
Assist with site inspections and surveys
Perform design tasks based on technical expertise
Ensure high-quality technical output
Maintain good relationships with external team members and clients
Manage project costs, time, and budgets; support fee proposals
Produce detailed design models and reports
Validate design models and calculations
Oversee drawing production and BIM compliance

Who we’re looking for:

Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (preferably MSc with ICE/IStructE accreditation)
Chartered or working towards Chartership
Minimum 4 years postgraduate experience
Proficient in relevant software and legislation
Strong project management and commercial awareness
Excellent communication skills
