Citi’s Operations & Technology organization (O&T) is driving a Cloud First strategy to optimize the IT environment, reduce complexity, and enable automation for agile application delivery. O&T aims to give Citi businesses a competitive edge by leveraging cloud scale architectures and enabling new infrastructure economics. O&T operates as a technology company focused on scalable, innovative next gen technology solutions for global banking.

Responsibilities

  • The Public Cloud Engineer will implement cloud architecture (on AWS, GCP and Azure) that enables the infrastructure (compute, database, network, storage, observability) required for application hosting in public cloud, using Citi’s engineering processes and best practices with emphasis on automation and security by design.

Required qualifications / Experience essentials

  • Developer experience across multiple languages – Java, Python, etc.
  • Experience with cloud platforms across multiple providers (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
  • Has built CI/CD / SDLC pipelines, for example Terraform and Harness.
  • Has served as tech lead within a specialist domain (e.g., tech lead for container or data platforms).

Value-add experience

  • Networking, transit gateways, proxy, NSG, security groups, load balancers, VPCs.
  • Cloud security (e.g., Wiz, Sentinel).
  • Cloud compute in services such as EKS, Lambda, Google GKE, AKS; Argo CD; storage (S3, EFS, EBS, or GCS); blob storage.
  • Data services: Cloud databases, machine learning, analytics.
  • Messaging services (Peng/ Pub/Sub) such as Kafka, RabbitMQ.
  • Cache / search technologies such as ElastiCache / ElastiSearch.
  • API services such as Apigee / Kong.
  • Observability and monitoring.
  • Identity and access management, dynamic keys and certificates.
  • Test-driven development.
  • More than 5–7 years of cloud real-world experience, anywhere (not limited to banking).
